    • Q:
    • Is she un-American?
    • Why is she unfairly unfamous?
    • A:
    • Anna Mamis was born around 1903, and died in Toronto at the age of 97. She lived on a farm in rural Latvia through two World Wars, the Russian Revolution, the German occupation, and the Soviet occupation. She was allowed to leave the USSR when she reached retirement age, and so was re-united with her daughters in Canada in the 1960s.
    • She often volunteered at the Latvian Cultural Centre and in a seniors' theatre company.
    • Anna Mamis was definitely un-American, but was not deserving to be unfamous!
